How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
1998
Computer, printer, paper, oil painting
11' X 9' X 3'

The printer, shelf and roll of paper are painted as faux wood. The piece considers the conditional, as in the question posed by the title. The computer answers the question by solving the equation for pi, the ratio of the circumference of the circle to its diameter, a number with no apparent end and no apparent pattern.
